Fitting Conservatory Blinds

Fitting conservatory blinds can take a while because of all the windows you have to consider, but once you've completed one or two you'll get into the swing of it! Vertical blinds, pleated blinds and solar-coated roller blinds are all ideal for conservatories. As you will usually not have a recess to fit the blind to, face-fix brackets should be used to secure conservatory blinds.

What You Need

To fit your conservatory blind, you will need:

•    Brackets (x2)
•    Your blind of choice
•    A drill
•    A screwdriver
•    A pencil
•    Metal tape measure
•    Appropriate screws

What to Do

Step one: Measure the hanging area
Use the tape measure to measure the area where the blinds will be hung and ensure they're the right length. In most conservatory layouts, you will use face-fixing brackets rather than top-fixing ones, as you probably do not have a window recess to fit to.

Step two: Check you have all components
Check your blinds have come with all the correct components, including screws and brackets, before throwing away the packaging. If there's anything you can’t find, please give us a call and we'll send any missing components to you straight away.

Step three: Fit the brackets
Place the bracket in position so that it allows appropriate clearances, then use your pencil to mark through the bracket holes onto the PVC frame. This is where you want to make your drill holes, so ensure they are in the centre of the frame, well away from the beading that holds in the glass.

Now, refer to the fitting instructions for the particular kind of blind you're looking to fit.
